Summer 2010 Internship Opportunities CDF-NY is seeking Summer 2010 interns to support the office’s research and policy analysis on multiple child issue areas including public health insurance, public benefits, child welfare, juvenile justice and child care. Job Responsibilities: Conduct research and analysis of city, state and federal child policy issues and its impact on New York’s children. Support health policy team’s work by supporting research on national and statewide health care reform, writing policy briefing memos, and conducting analysis of barriers to successful enrollment and renewal in public health insurance programs. Participate in coalition building efforts with our Child Health Now, facilitated enrollers, and health advocacy networks. Support work on existing health policy initiatives including connecting immigrants and the newly unemployed to facilitated enrollers, re-designing the New York Statewide health insurance application, analyzing access to appropriate health care providers in targeted communities and building a statewide Child Health Now Coalition network. Assist staff in collecting family stories for reports and press contacts. Required Skills: Undergraduate or graduate students with experience working with and on behalf of low-income communities. Must have excellent written and oral skills. Must be detail oriented and able to multi-task. Must be self-motivated and willing to work in a fast-paced environment.
